Jane Shey

Jane Shey, president of Shey and Associates Inc., an Agriculture Consulting Firm has a collaborative alliance with Gordian Marketing.  “We came together because of our interest in agriculture, biotech, marketing and our mutual skill at bringing differing groups together to address and solve complex challenges.” Jane was born in Iowa and worked for a Minnesota US Representative for several years so the collaboration is a natural one.
           
Shey and Associates has developed and implemented legislation policy for a broad spectrum of clients that include:  trade associations, Fortune 500 companies and producer organizations. 

Jane’s legislative activities include work with the House and Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committees to obtain funding for trade, research and rural development programs.  She has also worked with the House and Senate Agriculture Committees on trade, federal crop insurance programs and domestic agriculture policy. She served as a Legislative Assistant and as Chief of Staff for Representative Timothy J. Penny (D-MN).

She has held the following positions: Director of Government Relations for the Corn Refiners Association, where she created a government relations program; Staff Director of the Subcommittee on Foreign Agriculture and Hunger; The Advisory Panel of the Global Livestock Collaborative Research Support Program (CRSP) and The National Association of Animal Breeders on the Agriculture Technical Advisory Committee (ATAC) for Animals and Animal Products, US Department of Agriculture.

Jane graduated cum laude with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in history and theology from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa, and currently serves on the university’s Board of Trustees.  She has done graduate studies at Catholic University and Johns Hopkins University.
